The Church-wide project Gulayan sa Bakuran (backyard gardening) continues to flourish and benefit brethren in the Ecclesiastical District of Zambales North. On October 4, 2021, KADIWA and Binhi members from various local congregations in the district held simultaneous gardening activities.

On that day, some of the brethren harvested from their backyard gardens. Others, took to the task of weeding their vegetable patches while some tended to the seedbeds they have prepared for the next planting cycle.

The pandemic has highlighted the importance of a well-tended vegetable garden. Brethren in Zambales North were able to harvest different kinds of crops, including eggplants, sweet potato, okra, tomatoes, chili peppers, carrots, squash, cauliflower, and others, that supplement their food sources. Others have found the project as an alternative source of income as they have opted to sell their produce.

The young brethren are thankful to the Church Administration for guiding them in using their time in a meaningful way. ― With reports from INC News Section
