Doing their part to help save the environment and practicing the slogan “Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle,” KADIWA members from the Local Congregation of Kwun Tong, Ecclesiastical District of Hong Kong conducted a Photo Frame making on June 27, 2021 using recyclable materials.
Brethren gathered at Kwun Tong Promenade, an urban waterfront park in Kwun Tong, New Kowloon, Hong Kong while others joined the activity through videoconferencing from the comfort of their homes.
Brother Romy Villaganas, resident minister, spearheaded the activity with the help of the KADIWA officers through the leadership of Ailine Lorenzo, KADIWA president.
The brethren first gathered materials such as newspapers, straws, cardboard, egg tray, and others. After receiving instructions that they were to make a photo frame out of these recyclables, the brethren then went on designing their photo frames and accentuating them with colorful shapes.
For the attendees, the activity did not just teach the practicality of recycling materials into worthwhile projects, but it also impressed on them the benefit of being with their fellow Christians as they unite in the Church activities.
“As a KADIWA president, I am happy to lead my fellow young brethren in our local in participating in various activities in the Church to strengthen our faith and the bond of the Christian brotherhood,” said Ailine Lorenzo.
“My heart feels delighted in participating in this activity. It made me strong and active in my faith. I promised to be united with all the activities launched by the Church Administration,” said Sherly De Guzman, KADIWA officer. ― With reports from INC News Section
