Hundreds baptized in four districts in Visayas

Hundreds of individuals from provinces in the Visayas, Philippines covered by four ecclesiastical districts received baptism into the Iglesia Ni Cristo late last month.

On January 30, 2021, the Ecclesiastical District of Northern Samar held simultaneous baptisms in the houses of worship of the local congregations of Catarman and Palapag.

The district supervising minister and assistant district supervising minister, Brothers Elias Molejon Sr. and Dante Bacrang, respectively, officiated at the holy gatherings.       

Two of the newly baptized members, husband and wife, Wilbert and Maricris Paghunasan, said, “We promise that we will never abandon our worship services to God and we will also help in spreading the words of God through the various propagational activities.”

In the Antique Ecclesiastical District, the baptism took place in the Guisijan Local Congregation’s house of worship on the same date.

During the study of God’s words, the district supervising minister, Simeon Laprades Jr., emphasized the great relevance of receiving holy baptism in the true Church Of Christ.

Roda Magbanua, from the Igdalaquit Local Congregation, said, “Today is very important to me because I am now a full-fledged Church Of Christ member. I promise that I will also invite my family members to bring them to the true services and worship of God.”

She was one of the fruits in the faith of Robert and Rowena Badoy, deacon and deaconess, who helped guide her in joining the Church.

“We thank God for letting us witness our brethren receive the holy baptism. By His grace, we were instrumental in their conversion in the true Church,” they said.

January 29, 2020 saw the baptism held in the Ecclesiastical District of Negros Oriental, at the house of worship of Dumaguete City Local Congregation.

In the service prior to the baptism proper, Brother Amando Bariring Jr., district supervising minister, in his homily, reminded the baptismal candidates to treasure their membership in Church through utmost obedience to God’s teachings to attain salvation.

Meanwhile, on January 30, 2021, prospective members arrived early at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Bacolod City, Ecclesiastical District of Bacolod City, Negros Occidental for the final step in joining the Church Of Christ.

Before this, Brother Dennis Almasco, district supervising minister, advised them to remain active in their service of God to be deemed worthy of His blessings as taught in the Bible. — With reports from INC News Section
