On its 107th anniversary on July 27, 2021, the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) extended relief aid to the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Malaysia.

The Aid to Humanity event led by the Malaysia Ecclesiastical District’s supervising minister, Brother Ronaldo Lising, took place at the Philippine Embassy in Malaysia.

“Helping our fellowmen in need, especially our countrymen, is a biblical teaching of the Lord God. More so now, amidst this new normal, it is of great importance as the Covid-19 pandemic has greatly affected the lives of many worldwide,” Brother Lising explained. “Many OFWs continue to be retrenched from their work, and are being sent back home. Many struggle to make ends meet.”

Accompanied by the district staff as well as other ministers and brethren, Brother Lising turned over more than 300 relief packages to the Filipino community leaders in Malaysia for distribution to those in need. The relief packages contained several food items.

“Thank you so much Iglesia Ni Cristo for your kindness, for helping our fellowmen here in Malaysia,” said Philippine Ambassador to Malaysia, Mr. Charles Jose. — With reports from INC News Section
