Officers in the Children’s Worship Service (CWS) from Ecclesiastical District of Ilocos Sur, Philippines attended a special gathering on November 25, 2022. The activity was held in connection with the 104th anniversary of the CWS.
The designated venues for the special gathering were the houses of worship of the local congregations of Candon City, Calaoa-an, Magsaysay, Narvacan, Palacapac, Quirino, San Esteban, San Juan, Tagudin, and Vigan City. Officers from the neighboring congregations attended in the venue nearest to them.
“Special gatherings, such as this, give us further strength to fulfill our duty. We will perform our obligation until we reach the promised salvation, together with the children under our care,” Ryan Cuevas, CWS chairperson from the Local Congregation of Banucal, said.
Officiating ministers preached a Bible-based lesson from the Church Administration. In the lesson, they reminded the attendees that it is the Lord Jesus Christ Who commands that the children in the Church be taken care of. For this reason, CWS officers are there to help the Church Administration, as well as the parents in properly raising their children according to God’s teachings.
“I’m glad to have attended this special gathering,” Angela Quinto, CWS chairperson from San Jose Local Congregation, expressed. “I learned to devote myself to guiding the young members, as I also experienced being guided by CWS officers when I was young.”
“We thank Brother Eduardo Manalo, the Executive Minister, for guiding the CWS members and officers,” said Brother Charles Basuel, minister of the gospel. “We promise that we will continue helping him in taking care of the children in the Church Of Christ.” — With reports from INC News Section
