Catering not only the spiritual but also the material needs of the prospective members who are deaf, Iglesia Ni Cristo members from the Local Congregation of Iloilo City, Ecclesiastical District of Iloilo South provided aid to them through a “CSD Cares for the Deaf” activity on May 2, 2021.

Christian Society for the Deaf (CSD) officers, especially the Sign Language interpreters, spearheaded the activity under the supervision of Brother Orlando Ordan, minister of the gospel. They handed out goodwill bags that contained food packs as well as personal protective equipment (PPEs) such as face masks, face shields, and antiseptic alcohol.

Brother Ordan said that the Church conducts activities like this for the Deaf “as it has been an objective of the Church Administration to help them also with their basic needs. Indeed, the compassion of the Church Administration extends from the Church members to the prospective members, even the Deaf.”

Hope Santos, a deaf who recently enlisted as a doctrinal instructee, said through Sign Language, “I thank the Iglesia Ni Cristo for the support. Thank you for helping the Deaf. I am so thankful for the support of the Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo. This activity all the more inspired me to continue on studying the words of God until I will be baptized inside the Church.” — With reports from INC News Section
