On August 30, 2022, the Ecclesiastical District of Iloilo South, in Panay Island, Philippines, conducted a holy baptism. The baptismal candidates from various local congregations gathered at the house of worship of the Iloilo City Local Congregation for the sacred occasion.

Brother Azriel Pelaez, the district supervising minister, officiated at the holy occasion. He highlighted in his Bible-based homily the necessity of receiving baptism in the true Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) for one to be counted as a true Christian. Furthermore, he pointed out that in order to be worthy of receiving the promised salvation, one needs to remain a faithful member until the end.

Among those who received baptism that day were hearing-impaired individuals. Through the efforts of ministerial workers who are trained in the use of Sign Language, they have learned about God’s teachings upheld in the Church Of Christ like the other doctrinal instructees who were baptized that day. Firmly believing in the Good News they received, they persevered in their intention to become members of the true Church, finally receiving baptism.

Iloilo South oversees 68 local congregations, 10 extensions, and 10 group worship service (GWS). It is just one among eight ecclesiastical districts of the Church in Western Visayas. — With reports from INC News Section
