A food festival held on June 12, 2022 under the auspices of the Christian Family Organizations in the Manitoba, Canada Ecclesiastical District showcased culinary talents of the brethren.
More than that, the event dubbed “International Street Food,” which took place in three sites, namely, Winnipeg, Regina, and Saskatoon, also gave the participants a good opportunity to bolster their Christian brotherhood.
“Events such as this are so important because these give our brethren and guests a chance to meet each other. They get to see and feel the love of the brotherhood inside the Church Of Christ,” explained Brother Sidney Santos, district supervising minister of Manitoba. “We, Church members, want our guests to feel a sense of belonging, and with God’s help, that is what we were able to accomplish in this activity.”
The activity also gave the brethren a chance to invite their friends and loved ones who are nonmembers, not only to bond with them, but more importantly, to introduce them to the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) and the biblical teachings it upholds, such as Christian charity, unity, and brotherhood.
In each site, every local congregation prepared and served a variety of street food from a particular culture or country assigned to it. Among the mouth-watering treats that sampled and enjoyed by brethren and guests alike were East Indian, French, Korean, and Filipino street food. — With reports from INC News Section
