Part of its intensified efforts in caring for the spiritual welfare of the youth in the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), the Church Administration, through the Christian Family Organizations (CFO) Office, approved the holding of the Christian Family Youth Summit.

Held on May 13, 2022, the Church-wide event saw KADIWA and Binhi members from all over the world gathered in their respective houses of worship to participate in various activities intended to encourage them to all the more be zealous in their faith and in their services to the Lord.

During the special occasion, the attendees, which also included guests, watched a three-part video presentation. The introductory part apprised them of the various activities of the two CFO in the Church, KADIWA and Binhi. The second part featured a Bible-based discussion about the kind of success that the people of God, especially the youth, should strive for. The third and final part educated the attendees on what depression is and how it can be overcome.

From the Moncton, New Brunswick Congregation in Canada, Macy Coleen Santos, a KADIWA member, said, “Activities, such as this youth summit, give me strength, it’s good to be with the brethren at the end of the day especially having conversations about the faith. It is my duty to invite my friends and my family because I want them to know about God’s words for them to be saved on Judgment Day.”

The discussion about depression centered on how to overcome it and shared ways for the youth to avoid being depressed.

“This is really timely because the youth today have different definitions for success and it is not clear to some of them what depression is. Thus, in this activity wherein various kinds of success were explained for us and for others also the definition of depression, we can understand our situation and we can take steps on how to succeed and overcome depression.” Chjezhymn Esquivel, CAMANAVA District KADIWA president, said.

“There are many problems nowadays that the youth face in this world, so we are guided by the Church Administration to learn what we need to do to properly conduct our lives,” Edward Hachiles, Valenzuela Congregation KADIWA president, said.

“There are many hindrances and distractions in life, and there are also failures but we were taught not to give up, think positive, and trust our Lord God. If we have plans in our life, our God’s plan for us is above all these. We can reach our dreams by obeying our Lord God,” Rosemarie Gerona, a KADIWA member from Templo Central Local Congregation, enthused. — With reports from INC News Section
