To learn more about the proper use of social media, KADIWA members from the Local Congregation of Bambang, Ecclesiastical District of Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines attended a seminar on social media etiquette on July 11, 2021 held at their house of worship.
Diana Perez, a district multimedia bureau officer and a professor in the Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU), led the seminar, discussing decorous use of social media. She also provided awareness of unsafe practices that should be avoided, especially as the pandemic and the so-called new normal it has imposed on people’s lives have led more and more to using social media for their business concerns, education, and personal interactions.
“It is important to guide the brethren, especially the youth, in using social media. This can be for their good and it can also harm them depending on how they use it,” Brother Joel Pineda, the resident ministerial worker, said.
Programs that should be supported by the brethren in various media platforms and websites were also shared to them for them to continue uniting in the activities launched by the Administration in the Church.
At the end of the activity, through a short Bible-based lecture, Brother Pineda reminded the brethren that whatever they do, even online, should be in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God.
“It will be for the benefit of the youth if they will responsibly use the social media and this will also safeguard their divine election,” Brother Pineda added. — With reports from INC News Section
