The Ecclesiastical District of La Union, under the leadership of Brother Ardy Mendoza, held for the first time on May 1, 2023 a get-together of all those in the process of joining the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) under its care.

Dubbed “Araw ng mga Dinudoktrinahan at Sinusubok”, the gathering, which took place in the Bauang Civic Center in Bauang Town, La Union, Philippines gave the doctrinal instructees and prospective members a deeper sense of belonging in the true Christian brotherhood and encouraged them to carry on till they receive baptism.

Indeed, one of doctrinal instructees Benjie Artus from Bauang Congregation said in an interview after the event, “I promise that I will continue attending Bible studies on doctrines and worship services until I receive baptism in the Church Of Christ.”

The program started with the assistant district minister Brother Jonie Sibalo delivering the opening remarks. Next came the introduction by the Light of Salvation overseer, Brother Ramil Abrejal, of the aspiring members from each local congregation, followed by the district edification overseer Brother Gilbert Clores presenting the brethren instrumental in their conversion.

The would-be members were then treated to inspiring musical performances of original Iglesia Ni Cristo songs. Solo and choral renditions, as well as dance routines, were performed by select brethren from the local congregations of Agoo, Aringay, Bacnotan, Balaoan, Bauang, Caba, Camp I, Naguilian, San Juan, Santiago Norte, and Tanqui.

The production team put together by the district leadership attributed the successful staging of the event to the full cooperation of all concerned and, above all, to divine guidance. Joyce Ann Cueva of the San Vicente Norte Congregation, one of the team’s officers, said, “To further organize and make this activity a success, we held meetings and devotional prayers. The unity among the brethren made it easier for everyone of us to fulfill our respective functions.” — With reports from Moniq Anne Aquino of INC News Section
