“We, members of the Church Of Christ here in the Local Congregation of Lae City, here in Papua New Guinea, celebrated our first anniversary as a full-fledged local congregation through an Aid to Humanity outreach program,” Brother Edmark Velasco, resident ministerial worker, reported.
Held on May 6, 2022 at the function hall of the congregation’s place of worship, the humanitarian event was held for the benefit of the residents of 4th Street Top Town, in Lae City, Morobe Province.
Brother Velasco led the Church officers in handing out to the beneficiaries care packages containing essential and food items prepared by the brethren.
“As one of the Church’s advocacy to fight poverty and to love our fellowmen, we continue to help the people in the community, especially the less fortunate, whether they are members or nonmembers, as the Scripture says: ‘Whenever you possibly can, do good to those who need it,’” Brother Velasco added. — With reports from INC News Section
