Young members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) from the Ecclesiastical District of Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija who emerged as winners in the local level competitions of the “CFO Competitive  Online Activities 2021,” battled it out in the district finals on May 30, 2021.

Carrying the theme “Put All Your Hope In The Grace That Will Be Yours,” the districtwide lit-mus competition featured songwriting, photo contest, and poster making.

Adjudged first, second, and third placers, respectively, of every category were as follows: Shervin Castillo, Mia Ricci Velasquez, and Samantha Rose Jose (songwriting); Frinces Albino, Jerlyn Manabat, and Emmanuel Duque (poster making); and Pauline Joy Talania, Nicole Monteron, and Billyrenz Vicente (photo contest).

Mia Ricci Velasquez, from the Local Congregation of Minabuyoc, both wrote and interpreted Kami ay maghihintay (“We will wait”), a song about hope in the Lord’s deliverance in times of troubles. “During this time of pandemic, just like other people, Church members are afflicted. Through the song I wrote, I firmly believe that I will not only give glory to God but also be of help in uplifting the faith of my fellow brethren,” she said.

The activity, held at the compound of the Local Congregation of Cabanatuan City, was supervised by the District Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer, Brother Bernard Beltran. — With reports from INC News Section
