On December 27, 2022, the Local Congregation of Malabag, Ecclesiastical District of Cavite South in the Philippines, held a film showing as a means of sharing the true faith. The activity was held at the congregation’s house of worship.

Guests to the said propagational event watched Kahoy (Wood), a film produced by the Christian Era Broadcasting Service, Inc. (CEBSI). It tells the story of a family in a seaside village who found out the hard way the folly of trusting in graven images.

“We saw that the brethren were happy and they looked forward for this special screening. Many invited their friends, neighbors, and officemates and they appreciated the film that they watched,” Brother Dominador Tapang Jr., district supervising minister, observed.

“I’m very glad because I’m welcomed here. I’m interested in what the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) believes in and I want to learn about the teachings of God it upholds,” Miriam Reyes, a guest, said before attending the special screening of Kahoy. “The film taught me that we should not worship kahoy (wood),” Reyes said in an interview after watching the film.

“We thank our Lord God and our Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, for this congregation was one of those selected to conduct this special screening. We also thank the Christian Family Organizations (CFO) Coordinator, Brother Angelo Eraño V. Manalo, for the continuous supervision and guidance to the family organizations in making Church activities successful that bring activeness and further strength to the brethren,” Brother Tapang expressed.

Before the film showing, the attendees were treated to an interactive program held within the compound of the house of worship. Several fun games were facilitated by CFO officers. CEBSI souvenir items were also given out. — With reports from INC News Section
