To highlight the need to be vaccinated against the pandemic, the Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) officers from the Ecclesiastical District of Malaysia conducted a Covid-19 vaccine webinar on April 25, 2021. Hundreds of Church members throughout the district participated.

Brother Eleazar Ebreo, a principal staff physician with specializations on Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine, served as the resource speaker. He imparted his expertise and knowledge to help clarify wrong impressions regarding available vaccines so as to put out fear of having themselves vaccinated. He shared the importance of vaccination, its benefits and possible risks, emphasizing also that the benefits of the vaccine outweigh its risks.

Brother Eleazar said that this informative activity “aims to unite the brethren on the general and important information about Covid-19 vaccines, and address their concerns and queries about the efficacy and safety of the different vaccines available today.” In this way, he added, the brethren “will be able to make an informed decision on whether to avail of the mass vaccination, which has been, so far, done on a voluntary basis.”

Benefiting from the discussion, the brethren said that the activity gave them a better understanding through a health expert’s advice regarding this timely topic on Covid-19 vaccine. They were very thankful to the Church Administration for launching activities such as this that are truly beneficial for everyone and a proof of their continuous love and concern for the Church. — With reports from INC News Section
