Malaysia CMDPS promotes mental wellness amid pandemic

Facilitated online, the seminar featured a video recording of the lecture entitled “Don’t Panic Even During Pandemic” delivered by Brother Charmil S. Castro, a minister of the gospel assigned in the Christian Family Organizations (CFO) Office.

Brother Castro, who has a background in Clinical Psychology, shared essential tips to lighten one’s mood on stressful days. Most importantly, he emphasized from the Bible how vital it is to keep a sound mind to be able to think rationally while freeing oneself of stress and anxieties.

“I learned important tips on how to manage stress amidst this pandemic. Having constant family time, even though through video calls, greatly helps me in feeling less worried … a good diet and constant exercise … helps us in our daily activities but, more importantly, in fulfilling our duties as Church officers,” said Eenah Caymo, district KADIWA officer.

She also learned that “having a strong faith, and being an active member inside the Church erases any feeling of stress or anxiety.” She added: “I am reminded how we might be stressed, but never depressed because our Lord God’s love will always be with us.”

The CMDPS, which is under the guidance of the CFO Office, consists of Church members from the allied health professions who volunteer in organizing free medical-dental, among other health missions, as part of the Church’s Aid to Humanity project. — With reports from INC News Section
