In keeping with the organization’s initiative to share with fellow members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) their knowledge and expertise in the field of health and wellness, the leadership of the Christian Medical, Dental, and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) in the Ecclesiastical District of Malaysia conducted an eye care webinar on August 29, 2021.
Attended by brethren from various local congregations in the district, the online seminar featured Dr. Marichu Hayahay, an optometrist by profession and a CMDPS officer, as resource speaker.
“The activity aims to enlighten the brethren about the importance of maintaining good eyesight as well as the individual’s responsibility to take good care of their eyes,” she said.
During the seminar, Dr. Hayahay explained the parts of the eye, how they function, as well as time-tested methods on how to control, if not prevent, various eye problems. She also shared with the attendees how one can develop and maintain good eye health.
“Through this webinar I picked up some eye care tips and learned about common eye conditions such as Myopia, Cataract, and Glaucoma. I learned about eye care practices when working from home. I am thankful to the Church Administration because through this kind of activity I am encouraged to maintain good physical well-being so that I can continue serving the Lord God,” Patty Quintos, one of the attendees enthused.
After the lecture, a free consultation followed. Dr. Hayahay advised the brethren that eye problems need to be corrected or prevented from worsening. She also assured the attendees that CMDPS officers are there to accommodate the brethren’s concerns.
Before the webinar concluded, Brother John Romanillos, district Christian Family Organization (CFO) overseer, taught a Bible-based lesson to remind the brethren to always put their trust in the Lord God and ask for His protection and deliverance. ― With reports from INC News Section
