Never forgetful of the blessings that God gives but always thankful to Him, the brethren from the Ecclesiastical District of Malaysia commemorated their district’s 10th anniversary through a special gathering via videoconferencing on June 28, 2021.
From the safety of their respective homes, the brethren praised God through hymn-singing and also listened to the homily of Brother Joel San Pedro, minister of the gospel and in charge of the Church’s Overseas Mission Office. He reminded the brethren of the importance of their sacred duties and the characteristics a Church officer should possess—such as being capable, God-fearing, and trustworthy.
“The lesson is very enlightening for each and everyone of us, we learned that effective officers must possess such certain qualities and characteristics for them to carry out the divine obligation that God has given to them. This lesson inspired us,” John Earl Castañeda, Buklod president of the Local Congregation of Penang, said. “After receiving the spiritual advice from the lesson, I felt that I should strive more to be efficient and more capable in doing my divine obligation as a Church officer … I will fully dedicate myself as a Church officer and I promise to God that no matter what happens, I will be in my duty and strive more to become a better officer and learn more to show a good example to all those under my care,” he added.
Church members firmly believe that the Lord God guided them in the past years. They offered Him praises and thanksgiving for the spiritual strength they received in the special gathering.
“This [special gathering] further edified and strengthened our faith to our Lord God which is very important nowadays … even in this time of pandemic, our Lord God will protect us,” Ronald Robledo, district assistant choir director, said. — With reports from INC News Section
