Undaunted by the pandemic, Church members from the Local Congregation of Maligaya, Ecclesiastical District of Pampanga North continue in their service of God by means of spreading His truths and helping their fellowmen who are in need. For this noble purpose, they once again united in conducting an outreach-evangelical mission on November 6, 2020 at their house of worship.
Led by their resident minister, Brother Christopher Gorospe, the brethren prepared for this altruistic activity by holding nightly devotional prayers to seek God’s help and mercy in carrying out their tasks successfully.
Attesting on the brethren’s conviction of sharing their faith, Brother Gorospe said, “Though the brethren encountered persecution by other people who thought that such endeavor is not necessary anymore because of our present situation, being true servants of God, they did not cease to perform their holy obligation. This is because they are driven by love and compassion to bring people inside the Church in order for them to be saved on Judgment Day.”
On the day of the activity, brethren went out of their houses early in the morning to remind their guests and even invited more to attend later that night. Designated Church officers ensured the observance of safety and health protocols throughout the event.
Brother Gorospe preached about what should be learned from destruction of the ancient world, in the time of the patriarch Noah, by means of the Flood, as recorded in the Holy Scriptures. He emphasized using the Bible the importance of listening to God’s warning that the world will be destroyed on Judgment Day and joining the true Church Of Christ is the means for one to be saved.
After the evangelical mission, guests were given goodwill bags. Grateful and enlightened, many guests declared that they would continue to listen to the biblical teachings upheld by the Iglesia Ni Cristo.
On behalf of the congregation, its head deacon, Brother Allan DG. Cunanan, said, “The brethren from Maligaya promise to always be united with the Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, in conducting all the activities of the Church. To God be all the glory!” ― With reports from Mynn Tinio, Pampanga North
