On January 23, 2021, the Christian youth in the Local Congregation of Mangagoy, Ecclesiastical District of Bislig City, Surigao del Sur did not let the pandemic hinder them from caring for the environment. They conducted tree planting activities at Banati, Gata, San Agustin and at Puerto, Maharlika, Bislig City.

In both venues, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) personnel assisted the young members in correctly planting the seedlings as well as looking for strategic spots and observing proper row spacing on where to plant them. They made sure to strictly follow the health and safety protocols throughout the event.

On behalf of the DENR, Jannis Ian Longino, forest ranger, said, “The DENR family here in Centro Bislig thank the Iglesia Ni Cristo for taking part in planting for the sake of our nature. The [INC] members were here not only to fulfill their Church duty but also to abide by the government’s policy …” — With reports from INC News Section
