The Ecclesiastical District of Manitoba convened all Church officers to a special gathering on June 26, 2022, during which new officers took their oath of duty.

The sacred occasion was held in the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Regina, Saskatchewan, serving as the host site from where Brother Sidney Santos, the district supervising minister, led the gathering. Brethren from other local congregations witnessed the gathering’s proceedings via videoconferencing.

During his Bible-based sermon, Brother Santos reminded the attendees that duties inside the Church are spiritual gifts from God. As such, he pointed out, these must be cherished, and those gifted with them should be ready to make sacrifices, if need be, as they perform it with all devotion for the sake of the Church and for the glory of God.

After the study of God’s words, Brother Rodrigo Malacad Jr., assistant district supervising minister, administered the oath taking of the new officers.

“I’ve been praying for this day to come. For me it is truly a blessing and privilege from God to be able to look after the brethren under my care,” said Kissette Torres from the Local Congregation of Weston, who took oath as assistant choir overseer.

“It makes me happy knowing that I will be able to help not only our local congregation but also the Church Administration in taking care of my fellow brothers and sisters in the faith,” said Mary Louise Perey, from the Local Congregation of Winnipeg North, who took oath as Children’s Worship Service (CWS) assistant choir leader. — With reports from INC News Section
