On July 26, 2019, a day before the 105th anniversary of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), the Ecclesiastical District of Tokyo, Japan conducted a baptism at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Saitama.

The district supervising minister, Brother Manny Benedicto, officiated at the event. The ministers in the district assisted him in baptizing the new Church members.

One of them, Iwa Michifumi from Shinagawa, Tokyo, said, “Before, I didn’t observe any religion. Then I became interested in the Church upon seeing my friend who was attending worship services. That made me curious.”

Toshiko Endo, another newly baptized, shared how she was introduced with the Church. She said, “Being a shop owner, I became curious of my two customers who were buying a lot of tables and chairs. They said that those will be used for the Church.”

That first encounter led to her eventual decision to join the Church. “I’m so pleased now that I was baptized. I have peace of mind. With God’s help, I was able to bring some guests to the worship services, and evangelical missions. I will continue to invite many more,” she said. — With reports from INC News Section
