Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) membership in the Ecclesiastical District of Eastern Samar in the Philippines continues to increase as a baptism of new converts was conducted on September 17, 2021. It was held at the Hernani Local Congregation’s house of worship.

Before the baptism proper, Brother Rico Melgar, the district supervising minister, taught the baptismal candidates a Bible-based lesson that reminded them to uphold their divine calling and to remain active members inside the true Church until the end to receive salvation on Judgment Day.

Newly baptized members were thankful to God for calling them into the true Church. One of the newly baptized brethren, Sanny Abendanio, a police officer and now registered in the Hernani Congregation, said: “I value my membership in the Church Of Christ as the most important thing. Now that I am a full-fledged member, I promise to cherish and give utmost importance to my services to God.”

Situated in Eastern Visayas, Eastern Samar is one of the three ecclesiastical districts established in the island. It comprises 18 local congregations, five extensions, and two group worship services. The district office is located at the compound of the Borongan Local Congregation.

During the said gathering, all attendees ensured that they followed safety protocols even the province is under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ). — With reports from INC News Section
