Teenagers from various local congregations in the Ecclesiastical District of Metro Manila East learned basic bandaging for first-aid on January 9, 2021.

The Binhi district leadership gathered at the house of worship compound of the Local Congregation of Ugong, while their fellow young brethren from various congregations connected from their respective homes through a web link.

The Society of Communicators and Networkers, International (SCAN) district officers facilitated the seminar. RenalieManalang, SCAN Emergency First Responder (EFR) officer, said, “Some types of bandaging which we taught in the seminar are forehead, shoulder, arm-elbow, and ankle injury bandages.”

Sonny Vargas, SCAN officer, stated, “I am surprised that the young members easily learned basic bandaging. I noticed that because of their great interest, they were encouraged to extend assistance by giving first-aid to people who need help in times of emergencies.”

Alena De Leon, Binhi member, said, “I got interested in the seminar because I wanted to become a medical surgeon or a medical technologist like my mom who is a frontliner herself. I want to help my loved ones in emergency situations.”

Brother Dennis Jardin, resident minister of the Local Congregation of Ugong, exclaimed, “This kind of activity launched by the Church Administration is very timely. Because of the various calamities that occurred during these past few months like typhoons and earthquakes, basic first-aid should be learned, especially by the youth brethren nowadays.”

Rainlad Agustin, Binhi district president, stated, “I and my fellow Binhi members promised that we will always be united with the Church Administration and participate in all Church activities.” He added, “Come what may to our lives, we will continue to be steadfast in the faith and be victorious in all the hindrances and trials that will come to test our faith and trust with the Lord God.” ― With reports from INC News Section
