One with the Church Administration in helping the needy in these distressing times, Church members from the Ecclesiastical District of Milan had its own share on October 31, 2020 by donating food packs to the Banco Alimentare (Food Bank) designated by the Local Government of Milan.
Brother Ericson Villarico, minister of the gospel, commenced the event’s program. He welcomed the guests, some of whom were government officials, particularly Consul General Bernadette Therese Fernandez of the Philippine Consulate, and on behalf of Comune Di Milano, Sig. Marcello Cosentino, head of the Banco Alimentare.
Afterwards, Brother Dyland Ramos, district supervising minister, introduced the Church Of Christ and the aim of its Aid to Humanity outreach program, which is not only to uplift the social condition of the poor anywhere in the world but also, above all, to adhere to the commandment of our Lord God to love the fellowmen.
Sig. Marcello Cosentino expressed his gratitude to the Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, and commended the Church. He highlighted that while other religious entities are commonly receiving or asking for relief goods from the Food Bank, the Iglesia Ni Cristo, on the other hand, is unique for being the only religious institution that is giving or donating food items. This act of kindness, according to him, is highly appreciated by the Italian government.
Meanwhile, Hon. Consul General Bernadette Fernandez delivered a congratulatory message to Brother Eduardo Manalo. She also appreciated the Church’s initiative in its timely aid when many people are in dire need due to the Covid-19 pandemic. ― With reports from INC News Section
