The Society of Communicators and Networkers, International (SCAN) district officers from the Ecclesiastical District of Metro Manila East conducted an emergency first response training workshop on November 24, 2020 to impart to their fellow SCAN members ways of helping people in times of calamities.

The brethren learned various ways to assist others through an emergency first response training workshop that was conducted at the compound of the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Concepcion. Brother Nolito Mamato, resident minister, said, “It is vital for brethren to learn such skills especially in Marikina area, the City that is easily flooded when typhoons come since many people, members and nonmembers alike, need immediate response during emergencies.”

First aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) are some of the skills that were taught to SCAN and Christian Family Organizations (CFO) members who attended the training workshop seminar.

Ronaldo Mercido, SCAN district president, stated, “In times of calamities, we also feel nervous when conducting emergency response to save people’s lives. We are also humans and are prone to many kinds of injuries. What gives us strength is our prayer to the Lord God to guide and help us perform our duties and overcome all circumstances.”

The brethren promised that with all their might, they will perform their duties and fulfill their mission to save lives. ― With reports from INC News Section
