“The teaching [of God] that the Church Of Christ is the only Church that will be saved come Judgment Day caught my attention,” said Arnold Atar. Having learned this biblical truth, he decided to further examine the teachings upheld by the Church and become a member of it.
On October 15, 2021, with God’s mercy, Arnold and other prospective members in the Ecclesiastical District of Leyte East finally reached their much awaited day of baptism into the Church Of Christ.
The baptism of the new converts were simultaneously held in the houses of worship of the local congregations of Palo and St. Bernard led by Brothers Eraño Fabella and Alberto Tolentino, district supervising minister and assistant district supervising minister, respectively. On the said gatherings, attendees strictly adhered to safety protocols as the province is placed in Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ).
During the baptismal service, the officiating minister in both venues exhorted the candidates for baptism to be fully obedient to God’s commands and to give high regard to their divine election. By doing so, not only will they receive God’s abundant blessings in this life, but most importantly, His promised salvation.
Pondering on the biblical lesson taught during the occasion, Andrew Orongan, a newly baptized member and now registered in the Tanauan Congregation, promised, “I will not forsake worship services whatever trials that come in my life. I will always uphold and obey God’s commandments that I have learned since I was still in the process of joining the Church.”
Located in Eastern Visayas, Philippines, Leyte East district is one of the two districts established in the island. Its district office is found in Tacloban City. — With reports from INC News Section
