Through the intensive work of propagation in the Masbate Ecclesiastical District, more and more Masbateños have come to the knowledge of the truth and joined the true Church.
Among them, Maricris Masamoc, asserted, “Here [in the Church Of Christ], I realized that my former religion is not the true one. It was proven through the biblical verses that were taught to us.”
On September 25, 2021, Maricris, from the Cawayan Exterior Congregation, was among those who received the hope for salvation through the baptism held in the Local Congregation of EGM.
She and fellow candidates for baptism from various local congregations arrived safely and early at the venue. Together with the brethren who guided them through the process in joining the Church, they followed health protocols even as the entire province is under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ).
To prepare the candidates for baptism, Brother Miamino Miclat, district supervising minister, taught them a biblical teaching on how they should be able to continue giving praises to God by following His commands even though they experience trials in this life.
Reflecting on the lesson, Ruben Regular, a newly baptized member from Bagacay Congregation, promised, “I will strive to do my best to always attend worship services.” Determined to share his newfound faith to his loved ones and friends, he said, “I hope that they, too, will open their hearts and be willing to listen to the teachings of God.”
Comprising of 53 local congregations, 11 extensions, and 11 group worship services (GWS), the district is spread across the province of its namesake. Part of the Bicol Region in the Philippines, Masbate is an archipelagic province with three major islands. The district office is situated at the compound of the EGM Congregation in Kinamaligan, Masbate City. — With reports from INC News Section
