Part of the activities lined up in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Buklod organization this year, the “Mr. and Mrs. Chef” regional finals in Europe was held December 4, 2022, pitting together the cooking talents of eight couples representing the ecclesiastical districts of Italy South, which hosted the event, Central Europe, Italy North, Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Spain, United Kingdom, and Western Europe.

During the event, the panel of judges, along with spectators from each of the said districts, watched recorded videos of the finalists showing them as they prepared the ingredients of their chosen dish, the actual cooking, and then the table presentation. The criteria for judging included cook time, originality, and presentation.

At the end of the competition, the couple representing the Ecclesiastical District of the United Kingdom—Roland and Lorna Garcia, from Bournemouth Congregation—was declared the winner. They will represent Europe in the upcoming grand finals of Mr. and Mrs. Chef.

Brother Michael Pineda, Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer of the host district, said, “This activity not only gave enjoyment to our brothers and sisters in the Buklod organization but also edified our faith and the bond of married members in the Church.”

“We are thankful and joyful. This strengthened our marital bond. May this give inspiration to fellow couples,” Roland said. — With reports from INC News Section
