Determined to officially join the true Church Of Christ, hundreds of prospective members from different local congregations in the Negros Oriental Ecclesiastical District persevered amid persecution and trials, and with God’s help, received baptism on October 23, 2021.

“Those close to me persecuted me but I followed the words of God. I kept attending worship services in the Church Of Christ,” said Sister Nenita Tuco. Fully understanding the importance of worship service, she said, “It is my promise not to miss any worship services even though they are against it,” Sister Nenita added. She was among the many would-be-members who were baptized that day.

Brother Amando Bariring Jr., the district supervising minister, officiated at the baptismal service held at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Bais City. Through the Bible-based lesson he delivered, he reiterated to the attendees the great blessing that comes with the true baptism inside the Church Of Christ, that is, receiving the hope for salvation.

“I thank God that I am now a member of the true Church,” expressed Brother Gideon Baldomar Jr., newly baptized member from the Bais City Congregation. He shared that as he was undergoing studies on the basic doctrines of the Bible upheld by the Church Of Christ, he prayed for and kept on inviting his parents and siblings to also examine the teachings.

“I also thank God because they decided to pursue their membership. Currently, they are in the process of being a Church member. I pray that someday they, too, will receive their baptism,” Brother Gideon said. — With reports from INC News Section
