In commemoration of the 134th birth anniversary of Brother Felix Y. Manalo (1886-1963), new Church officers from the Ecclesiastical District of South Korea took their oath of office on May 10, 2020 during a special worship meeting made possible via videostreaming.

Brother Felix Manalo served as the first Executive Minister of the Iglesia Ni Cristo and is regarded by the faithful as God’s Messenger in these last days.

Brother Jerick Dela Cruz officiated from the Ansan Local Congregation’s house of worship, which served as the host site. In his homily, he encouraged the brethren to remain committed to their duties and steadfast in their faith in the face of all trials. He also emphasized that they should always pray to the Lord God, especially during these trying times, to seek His guidance.

The oath-taking of the 134 new Church officers from the different local congregations and group worship services throughout the country followed after the homily.

Brethren across the country witnessed the historic event. Attendees in the host site observed safety protocols such as wearing masks and maintaining the prescribed physical distance while those connected online also observed the same procedures at their respective homes.

This was the first time the Church in South Korea utilized videoconferencing technology in a district-wide worship meeting. Despite the novel arrangement, the brethren experienced the outpouring of spiritual graces. The newly appointed Church officers said they felt blessed to all the more be of help to the various Church endeavors. — With reports from INC News Section
