In the Ecclesiastical District of Leyte East, the Local Congregation of New Era hosted a blood donation activity on July 12, 2022. The activity was carried out in coordination with the Social Services Office (SSO) of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ).
The socio-civic activity was held inside the Garments Factory building situated within the INC eco-farm compound in Sitio New Era, Alangalang, Leyte, Philippines, about 11 kilometers away from Tacloban City, the capital of the province. Together with the brethren enlisted in New Era, who are mostly residents of the INC Housing Project that the Church built for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan, brethren from nearby local congregations, such as Palo, San Jose, and Tacloban City, participated in the socio-civic activity.
Before donating blood, the donors went through the required screening process, facilitated by volunteer-health professionals.
Activities that benefit the general public, such as blood donation drives, are regularly conducted by the Iglesia Ni Cristo in obedience to God’s instruction to extend help to those who need it. — With reports from INC News Section
