At the foothills of the lush Sto. Tomas mountain range in southeastern La Union Province, Philippines, lies the town of Pugo. On a hillside a few meters from the town proper, a new house of worship of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) has been erected for its local congregation named after the town.

The members of the Local Congregation of Pugo witnessed the dedication to the Lord God of their 180-seater edifice in a special worship service held on February 24, 2023.

La Union Ecclesiastical District’s supervising minister, Brother Ardy Mendoza, officiated at the dedication worship service. He exhorted the brethren, during his homily, to always take good care of the house of worship that God, through the Church Administration, has blessed them with, as it is where His Name and glory dwells.

In an interview, Mark Joven Montemayor, a finance officer, conveyed how vital the house of worship is to his and the fellow Pugo Congregation members’ lives as God’s servants. “Not only do we conduct our worship services in this holy place, but it is where we say our pleadings to the Lord and ask for His guidance when we go through tough times in our life,” he said.

On behalf of the brethren, Brother Ruben Carbonell, resident ministerial worker, expressed his thanks to the Almighty God and to the Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, saying, “Despite the worsening condition of this world, the love of God continues manifesting in our congregation. As a proof, we have been blessed with this beautiful and new house of worship.” — With reports from INC News Section
