This December, the organization for married couples in the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), Buklod, marks its 60th year. In line with this milestone  anniversary, the Ecclesiastical District of New Zealand hosted a Buklod Night. The formal event was held in various regions of the district from November 13 to December 11, 2022.

On November 13, 20, and 27, Buklod members from local congregations in the region of Hamilton, Wellington, and Christchurch, respectively, held the activity. Meanwhile, on December 4 and 11, couples from local congregations in the area of Invercargill and Auckland conducted the event, respectively.

A uniform program of activity was followed in each of the venue. Said program included interactive games for couples, INC original music presentations, and a delectable dinner for the attendees.

Buklod Night reminds the married couples in the Church how marital love should continue to flourish. More importantly, through God’s guidance and with God’s love, couples grow stronger in the faith,” Brother Edgar Hernandez, district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer, explained. “The couples enjoyed the program and the activity strengthened their marital bond.”

“This is my first time, together with my wife, to attend such an event in the Church Of Christ. We are overjoyed in participating in this Buklod Night,” Rogelio Gatmen, Buklod member from Cromwell Group Worship Service (GWS), expressed.

“Our inspiration in holding this Buklod Night is that we need to help the married members be active in serving God and lead their respective family in accordance to His will,” said Jeffrey Redona, CFO overseer of Invercargill Local Congregation.
