The choral group from the Local Congregation of North London wowed the audience with their rendition of “Our Dear Father Will Be With Us” and won the judges’ nod to be declared champion in the “Songs of Salvation: Buklod Edition” district level.
The competition, which was hosted by the CFO leadership in the Ecclesiastical District of United Kingdom and was held on July 31, 2022 at Kensington Aldridge Academy in London, England, served as a showcase for the brethren’s musical gift and an avenue for greater cooperation and sense of belongingness among them.
“Not only did this activity provide the Buklod members a chance to show their talent in singing, it also strengthened the brotherly bond among the brethren,” explained Brother Marvin Rustia, resident minister of Notting Hill Congregation.
Mervin Mangupag, head deacon of North London Congregation, expressed his and his fellow chorale members’ hope that they were able to inspire the audience not only with their performance but with their piece’s sublime message.
“The message of the musical piece that we sang is we will not worry because our Lord God will guide us through the hardships and sorrows in this life for us to reach the Holy City,” he said.
Manchester and Heathrow were awarded 1st runner up and 2nd runner up, respectively. The other finalists were choral groups from Notting Hill, South West Coast, and Portlaoise, Ireland. — With reports from INC News Section
