To have better chances of landing a gainful job, KADIWA members from the Local Congregation of St. Paul, Minnesota, Ecclesiastical District of Northern Midwest enhanced their knowledge and skill in writing their curriculum vitae.

For this purpose, they held an online seminar on resume-building on March 28, 2021, which was organized by KADIWA congregation president, Sister Melodi Lopez.

Brother Joey Toledo, KADIWA member and a former Human Resources (HR) professional, served as keynote speaker.

Brother Joey provided the brethren multiple tips on making a convincing resume. He discussed “dos and don’ts” by showing concrete examples. Most importantly, he highlighted the importance of trusting and putting hope in God to seek a better future in their careers.

In an interview, he said that the activity would be “very beneficial in helping and preparing the brethren for their next step in their career path. We believe our fellow brothers and sisters are confident in applying for their future job/internship after giving them tips and tools to build their resume.”

Sister Mariel Lopez, one of the attendees, said that as she was about to graduate college, “this activity has helped me prepare for my future. This activity made me feel more confident when it comes to building my own resume. … Knowing that I have other KADIWA [members] who can help me through this process reminds me that I’m not alone. It was also a good reminder to always pray and include God in all of our decision-making.”

“We were able to learn things we didn’t know before. I can now say, after attending this activity, that I am more confident in editing and building my resume, which will in return help me in the future,” said another attendee, Sister Jessica Geis. “I thank the KADIWA officers for taking the time and sharing their wisdom.” — With reports from INC News Section
