“Today is what I can call a perfect day and what better way to spend the day than with guests and brethren and to have this event, which keeps us all tied together, especially after such a long time apart and only been seeing each other on a screen. It is great to conduct this activity face to face,” Junel Haugley, from San Francisco, California, said.

He was speaking about the series of “Welcome, My Brethren,” a get-together activity to bolster the brethren’s camaraderie, recently held across the Ecclesiastical District of Northwest California over a five-day period.

The series had five venues or host sites where surrounding local congregations converged. It kick-started in the Local Congregation of San Pablo on June 12, 2021, followed by one held in US West Office on June 13. On June 19, 20, and 27, the activity took place at the local congregations of SalinasSan Jose, and Fremont, respectively.

“The people [in the Church] that I met are very nice and kind.  It was kind of them to accept me as a [Bible] student [in the] Church,” Willie Chapman, a guest from Burlingame, CA, said.

A biblical lesson was delivered in each venue, strengthening the faith of the new members and exhorting the guests to continue listening to God’s teachings upheld in the Church. Afterwards, brethren and guests were treated to an entertainment segment prepared by select brethren from each local congregation. The occasion gave a chance for the brethren and guests, from neighboring local congregations, to meet and socialize in person.

“The main feeling that I felt was welcomed. Everyone was super nice, making sure I was okay. I was introduced to a lot of people … I enjoyed meeting new people and I’m excited to join the Church,” Monica Lopez, a guest from Fremont, CA, expressed.

“We thank our Lord God for this wonderful opportunity that we have [for this] ‘Welcome, My Brethren’ activity,” Brother Ed Javier, district supervising minister, said. “We promise to the Administration that we will not waste the effort that they have exerted. Whenever they are teaching us not just the ministers, but even the brethren during the worship services, when our Executive Minister Brother Eduardo Manalo emphasizing the importance of sharing the faith, we can feel their sincerity. We will remain united with the Administration in bringing more people in the fold,” he added. — With reports from INC News Section
