A special gathering for members of the Society of Communicators and Networkers, International (SCAN) in the Ecclesiastical District of Northwest California was held in commemoration of the organization’s 33rd anniversary. The SCAN members assembled at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Fremont on February 6, 2022 for the said occasion.

Brother Pablo Hernandez Jr., assistant district supervising minister, led the gathering. “This special gathering of SCAN is to not only celebrate its anniversary but also to remind the officers and members concerning the importance of the duty they received from our Lord God for the sake of our brothers and sisters in the Church, and also for the sake of our fellowmen, in times of calamities,” he said.

SCAN, which is under the Christian Family Organizations (CFO) Office of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), consists of licensed radio communicators advocating use of amateur radio communication in helping save lives by providing assistance during emergencies, as well as during rescue and relief operations during disasters.

“The message I received was that God does not forget the works that we do and that motivates me to always attend and perform my duties,” Erixson Sundiam from Salinas Local Congregation, enthused.

“We dedicate our lives not just for our duty, but also the Church, and for everyone’s safety,” said Cherlyn Anne Sandal from the Local Congregation of San Francisco. — With reports from INC News Section
