Thankful to the Lord God and to the Church Administration for the refurbishment of their house of worship, the members of the Local Congregation of Nursery, Ecclesiastical District of General Santos City, South Cotabato, Philippines held the first worship service in the fully-renovated sacred edifice on May 8, 2021.

The occasion was part of their commemoration of the 135th birth anniversary (May 10) of Brother Felix Manalo, who served as the Church’s first Executive Minister and whom the faithful firmly believe is God’s Messenger in these last days.

Brother Noel Bocario, district supervising minister, led the sacred gathering. In his Bible-based homily, he exhorted the brethren to remember God’s Messenger by living according to the pure gospel he preached as well as value and take care of the house of worship.

The house of worship needed massive repairs after it suffered damages due to successive earthquakes in 2019. On January 2020, the local and district leadership reported the chapel’s condition to the Church Administration, which immediately took action. The following month, the Iglesia Ni Cristo Engineering and Construction Department inspected the house of worship and by July, the repair of the holy edifice had started.

“Amid the pandemic and various calamities, God heard the prayers of the brethren in this congregation [to restore this house of worship],” Brother Danilo Culipano, assistant district supervising minister, said.

“We are eager to return to our worship service in this newly renovated house of worship, and not only us Church officers, but the brethren as well. To God be the glory,” Ranny Bancal, head deacon, said.

“Now, we are more inspired to continue fulfilling our Church duties, together with our whole household because we continue to see the kindness of our Lord God [through this chapel],” Cecilia Ocampo, a choir member, said.

“This blessing renewed the zeal of the brethren and nonmembers also notice this sacred edifice. With this beautiful house of worship, we know that it will also be an instrument for the brethren to continue uniting in the works of the Church and for many more people to be called in the true faith,” said Brother Salvador Laid Jr., resident ministerial worker. — With reports from INC News Section
