
Helping their fellow youth who plan to venture into investments, KADIWA officers from the Ecclesiastical District of Malaysia spearheaded a webinar on June 20, 2021 entitled “Smart and Easy Investment Ideas for Overseas Filipino Workers.”
Besides their members’ spiritual well-being, the Christian Family Organizations (CFO), such as the KADIWA, are also concerned with their material welfare, guiding them to find decent and gainful livelihood, hence, the aforementioned seminar.
Sister Carla Dumale, active Church officer and owner of a small business in the Philippines, served as the keynote speaker. She discussed and shared her knowledge about investing in a business while working abroad at the same time.
“Of course, we don’t want to invest our hard earned money on something we know nothing about, that’s why it’s very important to have a proper knowledge before investing in the stock market,” she said.
She added: “There are a lot of factors to consider in the stock market. One should have, at least, a background on how the market works. He should also consider which stock does he want to invest, what type of investor he is—whether he is a long-term or short-term investor.”
“Investment can give us passive income to help us attain financial security, and achieve our financial goals,” said Elka Lepardo upon learning a lot about investing. “I have also learned that there are several investment opportunities that are available nowadays. It’s good to know that most of it are also accessible to OFWs like us. Most of these investments are easy to follow, and all we need to do is to conduct research and study before investing.”
More importantly, Brother John Romanillos, the district CFO overseer, reminded the attendees of the importance of praying in order to seek guidance from the Lord God before making any decision. — With reports from INC News Section
