Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from the Local Congregation of Okinawa, Ecclesiastical District of Tokyo, Japan gathered at Araha Beach, not to swim or scuba dive at the beach famed for its white sand but for a nobler cause—a coastal clean-up activity on November 6, 2021.

The brethren, old and young, brought with them disposable nitrile gloves and sacks as they went about cleaning the beachfront. Afterwards, they made sure that the trash were disposed properly.

Penelope Hope Ravinera, KADIWA congregation president, said, “With God’s mercy and help, we were able to hold this activity despite the hindrances, one of which is the pandemic.”

Christian Family Organizations (CFO) officers spearheaded the event, which was supervised by Brother Alex Dingal, resident minister. On behalf of the congregation, he said, “Conducting this activity is our response to the reminder of the Church Administration that Church Of Christ members be of help to the community by maintaining the cleanliness of our surroundings, all for the glory of our Lord God.”
