In the midst of the pandemic, the administration of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Chrst) has not stopped inspiring the brethren to unite with and actively participate in all Church activities, one of which is in making low-budget but high-quality films that highlight Christian values through the INCinema project. After wrapping up the production of its 2021 INCinema entry titled, “Even Here There Is Light”, the Ecclesiastical District of Orange County in California held its premiere on August 29, 2021 at the Century Stadium 25 and XD [Century Theatres] in Anaheim, California, USA.
The film is about Jessa who, after losing her elder sister, Eliana Mae, to Covid-19 struggled to move on. Yet, she never gave up on life reminding herself always that “God is just a prayer away.” Her prayers were answered when Kenny came into her life.
The cast, production crew, with their respective families, together with other brethren gathered at the movie theater to watch the live premiere of the film. Health and safety protocols were strictly followed by the brethren. Brethren from other local congregations in the district watched through videoconferencing.
“Inspiration in directing the INCinema [project] came from my own experiences throughout this past couple of years—the pandemic, challenges that I face, including talks and inspiration from those around me as well,” said Daina Munar, the scriptwriter and director from the Local Congregation of Montclair, California.
She added, “INCinema provides the platform for those who have different skills and talents God blessed with and to use them in serving God, give happiness to the Church Administration, and to share the story of faith that will encourage others and give inspiration.”
The brethren are happy for, in such kind of activity, they were able to help the Church Administration in giving inspiration to other members and in sharing their faith to their fellowmen for the glory of God. ― With reports from INC News Section
