The Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), through the Ecclesiastical District of Iloilo North, organized yet another outreach-evangelical mission for the residents of Longuingot, an island-barangay (village) near the town of Estancia, Iloilo, Philippines on June 28, 2022. It can be recalled that the Church first held an outreach-evangelical mission in Longuingot on March 19, 2022.

“When we learned that there would be another outreach-evangelical mission in Longuingot, we immediately conducted a series of meetings of the Church officers here in our local congregation so we could prepare for the said event. We also readied the [motor] boats so we could cross the island safely,” said Brother Benjie Juarique, resident minister of the Estancia Local Congregation.

From the port in Estancia, a delegation of ministers, ministerial workers, and brethren, led by the district supervising minister, Brother Abner Flores, traveled to the island. Upon arriving, they went to the village’s basketball covered court and prepared the site for the outreach activity. There, the residents were given relief packages containing rice, canned goods, other grocery items, and medicines.

On behalf of the residents, Brgy. Chairman Joel Cañeso said, “We have a huge respect to the Iglesia Ni Cristo. Thank you for the aid that you’ve distributed to us. We truly need this especially now that there’s a widespread poverty.”

During the evangelical mission which followed right after, Brother Orly de Guzman, a minister of the gospel, taught the residents from the Bible about the importance of the true Church Of Christ in knowing the true God. — With reports from INC News Section
