The deacons, deaconesses, and group overseers from local congregations in the Ecclesiastical District of Cavite South recently received spiritual guidance and inspiration in performing their duties.
This was during their special gathering held at the houses of worship of the Local Congregations of Imus, New Era, Bagong Bayan, Carmona, GMA, Silang, Bagtas, Indang, Tagaytay, and Gen. Aguinaldo on January 8, 2021.
The officiating minister in Imus Congregation house of worship, Brother Arvie Ramos, district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer, delivered the homily, based on biblical teachings, emphasizing importance of the Church officers in taking care of the Church. He reminded them that they were placed by God in their office to help the Church Administration “set in order the things that are lacking” with respect to the service to God of the brethren under their care.
In an interview, Brother Ramos said, “This special gathering aims to remind the Church officers with God’s words that will guide them in performing their Church duties. Because as Church officers, our Lord God expects us to show concern for and to love the brethren under our care.”
The Church officers attested they drew inspiration from the words of God they received in fulfulling their duties through which they extend the concern of the Church Administration to the brethren they are overseeing.
“It is important to attend special gatherings such as this, because these strengthens us to hold firmly on our Church duty and to wholeheartedly uphold our active services for the glory of our Lord God,” John Louie Garcia, an area overseer from Imus Congregation, said.
Armed with the guidance and inspiration she received, Elizabeth David, an assistant overseer, said. “I promise to the Church Administration and most of all to our Lord God that I will all the more perform my Church obligations.” — With reports from INC News Section
