On the morning of August 14, 2021, Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from the Local Congregation of Paku, Ecclesiastical District of Leyte East united in a clean-up drive in their community.

The resident minister, Brother Niño Demeterio, led the activity. The brethren made sure to strictly follow the health and safety protocols. Equipped with brooms, sacks, dust pans, and grass cutters, they swept the dirt off the sidewalks, as well as tall grasses and weeds along the streets of Barangay Paku, Bontoc, Southern Leyte, Philippines.

“I am beyond happy to be a part of this activity for I am able to be in continuous unity with the Church Administration even in this time of pandemic,” said Carolle Costillas.

Leoncio Guzmana, KADIWA congregation president, said that the activity made him “felt invigorated and all the more inspired in fulfilling Church duties, as I have been also able to care for the environment which is a timely concern nowadays.”

The province of Leyte was under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) when the activity was held. — With reports from INC News Section
