Christian Brotherhood International (CBI) members from the Ecclesiastical District of Pampanga East in the Philippines held a notebook-recycling activity on August 18, 2020 in their respective homes.
The activity aimed to cut on the cost of school supplies for the upcoming school year.
“This recycling activity is important for us, students, because we can reuse our old notebooks and save money from buying new ones,” Lloyd Arceo, a Children’s Worship Service (CWS) officer from Sampaga Local Congregation, said.
In the activity, the CBI members collected their old notebooks and separated its unused pages. They applied various ways of binding the pages such as sewing and using fasteners to create new notebooks, at the same time applying their creativity.
Dale Kian Pineda, a choir member from Sto. Tomas Local Congregation, said, “This activity is a great help to us for it not only shows our creativity but also teaches us about thriftiness, which is timely as life gets hard. Instead of throwing our old notebooks away, we can still use them in our studies.”
Expressing the collective gratitude of the participants, Dale added, “We thank the Lord God and the Church Administration for activities such as this and for the continuous supervision to us.” — With reports from INC News Section
