To equip the brethren with initial know-how on communicating with members of the Deaf community, the leadership of the Group Worship Service (GWS) of Pisa, Ecclesiastical District of Italy South organized a Basic Sign Language (SL) seminar on November 12, 2022.

Brother Rodegar Toca Jr., resident minister and a trained SL interpreter, spearheaded the online activity. He taught the attendees how to sign the alphabet, numbers, greetings, days and months of the year, among others, using the INC Sign Language App.

“The activity aimed not only to give the brethren skill and knowledge in sign language but, most of all, to further strengthen the camaraderie and the love of brotherhood among them,” Brother Toca said in an interview.

A project of the Christian Society for the Deaf (CSD), which is under the Christian Family Organizations (CFO), the INC Sign Language application was launched in 2018. It is free and is available for both android and iOS devices. — With reports from INC News Section
