The Church’s work of propagation in Eastern Visayas, Philippines continues to triumph as two simultaneous baptisms were held by the Ecclesiastical District of Leyte East on August 13, 2021. This came just two weeks after it conducted several baptisms in commemoration of the Church’s 107th anniversary.

The first batch of candidates for baptism gathered at the Local Congregation of Palo’s house of worship for the baptismal service officiated by Brother Eraño Fabella, district supervising minister.

The other baptism, led by Brother Alberto Tolentino, assistant district supervising minister, took place at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of St. Bernard in Southern Leyte.

In the Bible-based lessons prepared for the holy occasion, the officiating ministers taught the baptismal candidates the importance of remaining steadfast in their divine election despite the hardships. They encouraged the would-be members to be devoted to the worship services and actively participate in various Church’s activities, especially the propagation of the true faith so that many more will receive the hope of attaining eternal life in the Holy City.

Among the new converts were Roselyn Duroga and Arlyn Gabagat, both enlisted in the Local Congregation of Cansamada. “I decided to join the Church of Christ because I want to serve God and I also want to be saved on Judgement Day,” said Arlyn.

Their head deacon, Ramon Pamatian, promised: “Whatever the situation is, I will never cease to spread God’s words. This is my divine obligation that I must fulfill in order to glorify God. I am thankful to the Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, for always guiding us in order for us to be certain of attaining salvation on the Day of Judgement.

The district leadership intimated that another series of baptisms are to be expected before August comes to an end.
