“We have seen the big difference between the Church Of Christ and other religions. The Church Of Christ teaches the true teachings based from the Bible,” said Edilberto Benido.

With the grace of God, he and his family, together with other prospective members in the Ecclesiastical District of Davao de Oro reached the final step of the process of joining the true Church—receiving baptism—on October 30, 2021.

Following safety protocols, they gathered at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Nabunturan. In the baptismal service, Brother Nicanor Bernardo Jr., district supervising minister, taught a biblical lesson about the great importance of receiving the true baptism taught by the Lord Jesus Christ and His apostles in order to receive salvation on the Day of Judgment.

The newly baptized brethren were thankful to God for calling them into the Church Of Christ. Among them, Marilou Rabi, promised to obey God’s teachings written in Bible. “If time comes that I will be persecuted or there will be challenges, I will stand my ground because I know that here [in the Church Of Christ], there is salvation,” she said.

“I will be devoted in attending worship services, helping in the works of propagation, and I will strive to remain in the Church Of Christ until the end,” promised Roan Shaine Roberos, another newly baptized member.

Limson Hernando, head deacon in the Mawab Congregation, who was instrumental in the conversion of some of the newly baptized brethren, said, “I am thankful to our Lord God because my prayer was granted. I will continue to help in the work of propagation.”

Davao de Oro District consists of 27 local congregations and several extensions and group worship services (GWS) in Mindanao, Philippines. The district office is in the compound of the house of worship of the Nabunturan Congregation. — With reports from INC News Section
