Overcoming many obstacles, including the threat of the pandemic, prospective members from the Ecclesiastical District of Tokyo, Japan finally reached the most-awaited day of their baptism on July 27, 2021. That it fell on the 107th anniversary of the Church Of Christ made it more memorable for them.

One of them, Kaneko Kozo from Miyashiro town in Saitama prefecture, said, “It’s really the Lord God’s guidance. I’m thankful and grateful to Him. Now, I can truly serve the Lord God and I feel so happy.”

Growing up without practicing any religion, Kaneko attested his life began to change for the better when he believed and decided to join the Church Of Christ.

“I didn’t have any religion then, so I didn’t believe in God. I was invited to the Church. I listened to the doctrines for few times [and] started to believe that there is truly a God and felt that He is so important for us,” he recounted.

Prior to the baptismal rite, he and the other candidates for baptism gathered at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Saitama to receive a Bible-based lesson delivered by the district supervising minister.

Brother Manny Benedicto taught that no matter what the situation of the world is, Church members ought to serve the Almighty God and fully obey His commands in order to remain steadfast and be deemed worthy of entering the Holy City prepared and promised for them.

“First of all, we praise our Almighty Father because on this momentous occasion, He allowed us to conduct a holy baptism in our district,” Brother Benedicto said in an interview. “This is an important event because more people were added into the fold that will truly serve God and be certain of attaining salvation on Judgment Day.” — With reports from INC News Section
